Embarassed to say that I once again won a blog give away... I guess I should head to Los Vegas or buy lottery tickets, becuase lady luck is really on my side!
The pretty polka dotted wrapping and gorgeous ribbons really made this special!
Thank you so much Karin! I hope to make something from the book soon.
I wanted to show you these today though. I LOVED the tablecloth.
The embroidery on it was so pretty and special. While the tablecloth was no longer useful in it's original pursose, I decided that the embroidery should have a new destiny.
So in my usual style I chopped up the tablecloth salvaging the choicest of embroidered bits and hand appliquéd them into place. These two white linen bags are now in the shop.
You are a lucky, lucky girl!
I love this repurposed tablecloth. Just the right touch and full of nostalgia.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Lucky you! And what a sweet way to continue the life of an old tablecloth.

I am so impressed with how you so easily cut into old fabrics and repurpose them. I wish I could too. I have old table cloths with beautiful embroidery that can not be used becaise of spots and discolourings. And still I find it sp hard to cut into them. Completely silly.
I love your stringbags!

That book looks like a nice one; I'm only just getting to grips with sewing the dresses let alone pattern cutting yet! :) p.s. i LOVE those red and white striped mittens below!!

emily´s idea has inspired me! here again a very good idea for how to "recycle" precious patterns from things one no longer uses!
do you use an iron-on fleece to support the applications before you add your pretty border-stich around the edges?
thanks so much for sharing! best wishes to norway...

Hi Heidi!
Hey, that was nice to hear that you got inspired by this humble project! I never use any iron-on stuff behind my appliqués. I find the iron on things a bit tedious, just another extra step. I simply pin it where I want it and stitch. It seems to work well enough.
