Sorry for being gone for awhile! I have had days of headaches. I will spare you the painful details, but I thought I would share some eye candy with you today to make up for my absence! First a lovely late bloom from our back yard, and then I show you goodies from a recent quilting night.
Anne could see that I wanted this book when we were at the quilting meeting. She surprised me with it as a belated birthday gift.
I was really happy to have it as I had found Merete's talk and work most inspiring.
It was a kick to meet her after reading her blog for many years.
She had suitcases full of her wonderful work. I have to say, seeing it in person was so much more satisfying than just seeing the photos on her blog. To fully appreciate textiles, it must be in person.
This little textile loveliness is my purchase that night at the quilting meeting. (Didn't I show enormous powers of self-restraint, just one fat quarter...?)
Aren't the colors fabulous?
Glad you are feeling better. That first photo is beautiful. In fact, the buds on the fabric remind me of your photo.

Oh no, headaches are the worst. Glad you are on the up and up. I LOVE the pictures of that book! So gorgeous--I would be so happy to try a quilt like that!

Headaches are no fun. I get them about once a month -- migraines -- which renders me worthless most of the time. Sorry to hear that you're suffering from headaches. :-(

A LOT of restraint! ;-) Lovely choice though. I've just joined a quilting group - such fun.
Hope you feel better soon.

Only one fat quarter?! Such amazing powers of self-control. I hope the headaches don't come back any time too soon. They really wreak havoc with creative play time.

Well, Melissa, when a fat quarter costs about $7.50 it gets easier to be strong. Yes, that is the price in Norway! (It might be actually 1/3 meter, but still, it is so pricy compared to US prices!)

Still, Emily, only one fat quarter? I think the migraines had some leftover effects. Carolina

That would have been very hard to keep from buying many more. Your lovely rose... is so beautiful! It is late isn't it? We are having a beautiful Fall here. The colors are wonderful. I suppose I need to take a few pictures.
We just celebrated our grandson's 5th birthday! So neat to see how much he has grown.
Busy time....
Guess I best go to bed... it's late.
Glad I was able to stop by and see what your up too!
Hope that your headache is doing better!
Have you been eating right? I tend to get headaches when my blood sugar is low!

Hope you are feeling better and wanted to say that I had headaches (not all the time) but off and on from the time I was about 32 or so. I found out later that they were hormone shift headaches. I know you dont want to hear all this - ha - but i was glad to finally know what they were. They were not quite migranes but they were definately something that stopped everything else. I finally started taking a darvocet or a vicodin and they would go away. Good luck and hope you feel better - enjoy your photos and abilities.
