I want to thank you all for all the kindness and encouragement. I can't begin to tell you how much it means to me. Reading your comments makes me smile and help me to feel like what I do matters in some small way.
Some time back I contacted Randi to ask about ordering some fabric from her Etsy shop: Freshsqueezed. We chatted a bit and we ended up agreeing on a swap. I got a marvelous stack of her gorgeous fabrics and she got a dollie from me.
We had agreed on exactly what we would send eachother, but she cheated!!! She was so generous! This stack in the front is an extra surprise she snuck into the package! Thank you ever so much for this wonderful swap!
Fru Lillevik in aqua and orange and red is my latest creation made with some of Randi's fabrics.
I haven't done much sewing this weekend, the weather has been too good for that! The glorious sunshine has been shining its late summer rays on us this lovely weekend. I have done a bit of weeding in the garden too.
I hope you are enjoying a beautiful weekend too and will be starting the week with fresh energy and enthusiasm.
Sikken en skøn byttehandel. Her i København har der været rekordstore regnskyl med oversvømmelser til følge. Nu skinner solen en smule, det er dejligt lige at få den at se inden den går ned:-)

Oh my goodness! Looks at those dolls in Jennifer Paganelli's Poodle fabrics. So pretty.
I think Fru Lillevik is absolutely stunning!! It is easy to see how much joy went into the making of her. Which is something I love about all of your work--how your positive spirit shines through.
A big hug from this side of the world!

Didn't you do well in that swap! Love your Fru Lillevik and how you've replicated the flower on the fabric with the daisies on her head. So pretty....

I think if you lined up all the dolls you have made, or at least a photograph of them since I know many of them have new homes, you would see quite a progression. The placement of the fabric has become more of a factor than before. They are, the dolls, stronger, visually, but still retain a feminine sweetness. It is kind of like a modern version is showing up - Fru Moderna. Carolina

I was just thinking what Carolina Ellis said! If you look back some years, it really shows how you've progressed in your dolls.
I love each one more than the one before. Your seasonal and holiday Ladies are just gorgeous!!

*blushing* my earlier ones weren't always so perfect... the stitches were more uneven and wavy, the faces were often a bit awry... good to hear that you think I am improving somewhat! :)

Thanks Yvette, your words are going to get me going making some fall and Christmas dolls. Mom said I should make fall dolls too. With the change in the weather I would really like to do that! I appreciate your motivating words.
hugs from Emily
