I discovered this new embroidery magazine, Needle, while cruising the internet today and thought you might like to take a look. They seem to have the entire first issue online and for free!
I just got a big order of Japanese crafting inspiration in the mail from Amazon in Japan.
It is funny because the first time I ordered from them I had to wait
for an entire month for its arrival. This time it was a mere 3 days!
I was positively blown away when the package arrived at the door! Yes, they send it door to door!
The base rate for shipping from Japan is steep but then there is just a small fee per book on top of that making it affordable if you buy less frequently but in large quantities at once!
There is something about this Japanese style that is so appealing.
I also find the photo instructions most helpful. As my son says it would be nice to be able to read Japanese too.
I will surely be sharing more of my new purchases with you soon!
I don't know whether or not you have noticed that I have a few new dolls in my shop that don't have hearts on their behinds, but mushrooms! Above is Fru Hammerstad.
and Fru Langsom. The mushrooms take a bit more time but they are so much fun to do!
Whauw so much new inspiration! love your magazines!

I love Japanese style sewing too. It's usually so colorful with such clean, simple lines. And I love linen :) I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.

Thanks for the link. I got a few Japanese embroidery books for Christmas, and I don't even notice the writing because I'm too busy drooling over the photos. :) Cute mushrooms!

I just bought "Story Quilt", the book on the top of your stack, a few days ago. You'll love it!

Hi Karen,
Thanks so much for dropping by and for leaving me a nice message. I so love to hear from people who read my blog.
You are so right, I adore the Quilt Story book! I just cant get enough of these wonderful books, definitely becoming a Japanese book addict. Very dangerous and slightly expensive...
Do you have an ever expanding collection of Japanese books too?
Happy creative day to you!
Warmest wishes from Emily

Hi Sara!
What a delight to get your nice comment! Thank you! I loved seeing the link! What a great looking book! I think I will have to order that sometime...
Arent you lucky to have a Japanese book store you can visit personally. I think my family would have a hard time dragging me away if I first went into one.
I loved looking at your blog this morning and was so very impressed with the gorgeous Christmas cards you made. They are really special. I think those gocco machines sound like tremendous fun.
Hope you are having a marvelous day!
Warmly, Emily
