I told you yesterday that I never seem to have enough containers. I have been wanting to try making a larger fabric basket for some time.
These woven fabrics got me started. I used the brown as a bias tape for the top of the basket. The other fabrics were Japanese prints.
Between the two layers of Japanese fabrics I used a layer of flannel, in order to give the basket a bit more substance and help it to hold its shape. It wasn't hard to make and I can imagine making them in many shapes, sizes and colors.
I'm making a large fabric basket right now for a custom order with monogram! I enjoy making them, and it is something different for the non-crafters out there to collect right now. The muted Japanese fabrics are very pretty. -- michele
