Would you care to get warmly dressed for a visit to the Norske Folkemuseum's annual Christmas market? It is just above zero celcius so it isn't too cold and all the sights will be well worth the trip.
Even the buildings look Christmasy with the pretty green walls and red tiled roof.
I was so enchanted by this trio of handsome elves.
This little wooden bird appeared to be hand carved and was beautifully hand painted.
I was so impressed by the quality of the work. I certainly would love to find this hand painted wooden serving plate under the tree for me!
This winged creature was highly original and wonderful!
This same hatmaker has had her wares on display year after year and It is always a treat to see her marvelous new creations.
I will actually be taking you back again soon, as there is still more to see! I hope you enjoyed our outing, that the waffles were tasty and that you didn't spend too much money.
I would spend too much money but what a treat! Handmade treasures are enjoyed year after year- and the price tag is long forgotten. Are there more waffles?

Mmm...every year I regret now going. When will I do something about it? :-)

The gnomes and winged creatures are absolutely charming. I look forward to your next installment. Unfortunately there are no wonderful Christmas markets here like we had in germany or y0u have in Norway. I will live vicariously through my bloggy friends. No gluehwein, but no empty wallet either. ;-)

It looks beautiful! When I visited the Folk Museum a few years ago (Midsummer weekend) it was pouring rain! My abiding memory being the fact that I broke the steps in front of building 57......standing on the top step to look into the old farm building the slate step underneath me just broke in half and I fell to the ground.....oops! Managed to find someone to tell and to provide me with an elastoplast!
I loved the museum, particularly the new building from Oslo with the apartments decorated from different eras.
