Autumn's bright, vivid colors and rapidly changing foliage provide fabulous inspiration.
Soon the leaves on the trees will all be on the ground and in my desire to prolong this pretty seaon I decided to get crafty. Ever since making the leaf garland last year, with limited success, I have wanted to make a prettier one...
I imagined it with a bit of a 3-D effect, not just flat. I cut out piles of leaves from various fall colored felts. Then I cut out browns for tops and bottoms of acorns. I sewed the tops onto the acorn bottoms using a whip stitch.
Then, one by one I sewed the leaves onto a crochet cotton yarn by hand. Funny, the stitches don't really show. I made sure to bend and scruntch the leaves together a bit so that they would stick out.
Happy day to you whatever the season where you are!
Oh my goodnes This is so pretty. What a lovely idea. So cute :)

The garland is just perfect. It captures the sense of twirling brightly colored leaves and the acorns will have squirrels at your windows.

I don't know how last years garland looks like, but this years garland is absolutely beautiful. It has texture, movement and beautiful colours! I am impressed with the patience you must have to have cut out every single of those leaves. Beautiful!

Your garland is so beautiful!! I have been wanting to make one, but now I feel like autumn is about to pass us by. (At least here in Colorado, where it has already snowed and the leaves are quite scarce.)

Your leaf garland is exactly what I've been wanting to create! I am having trouble finding the colors I need without investing a lot of money. It looks like next year will be more realistic for me to make this.Your garland is simply beautiful.
