It seemed a bit more stressful than summer vacation... Having to get up on time, make lunches and a regular schedule to follow... School in Norway starts early. August 17th my big boy went back to school, starting in what is known as 4th grade in Norway, but is comprable to 3rd in the US.
Here he is intent on getting ready to go off.
He barely had time to smile for me to take his first day of school photo.
There he goes rushing off to meet his friends. He'll have the same teacher this year as last year. We are so pleased about that as she has been wonderful at motivating him. Before leaving he asked me if I thought this year would be really hard at school. I'm not really sure, but I think he is up for the challenge if it is.
I am used to Sebastian being gone a large part of the day at school, but Lilly and I have spent nearly every week day together the entire day since her birth. So I have been feeling rather odd about her now going off to nursery school for a whole 4 hours a day 4 days a week! I feel an incredible sense of freedom to finally have so many hours uninterrupted time. I aslo feel disbelief that she should be so big! Her nursery school is just a 5 minute walk from home, that is if I am walking alone. Lilly and I take about 20 minutes to do the little walk though, hand in hand, sometimes skipping, nearly always chattering.
She really seems ready to go too. I might not be though. The great thing is she is a born story teller and tells me each and everything that hapens while she was away.
While they are gone I hope to have some time to do something with these bright and cheery fabrics! I have decided to definitely have my shop closed until mid-September, but I will likely miss you all to much to stop blogging until then. Wishing you a fantastic week.
Oh exciting yet changing times for you. Such beautiful pictures of Lily and Sebastian. savour those free hours - I hope they have fun!

Emily... they sure have grown!!! Good for you! As hard as it is, you will find that you really appreciate the time you have alone! And they will appreciate you even more!
Too cute about the bang cutting experience! Our son was in kindergarten and knew not to cut his own hair... ahem, but for some reason we never thought to tell him not to cut anyone else's! One day he came home and told me that they weren't allowed to use scissors any more in the class room. But, he didn't tell me why! When I went to do some volunteer work in his class a few weeks later... his teacher enlightened me! Apparently Ben decided to give a bunch of kids hair cuts!!! I always cut his hair and my DH's so I suppose he figured it was allowed! You know, not one of the parents of those kids called me and complained! After that, well let's just say we talked a lot about different things that he was allowed to do; and things he wasn't!
Have fun... the fabric is cute... I think I have some of the same of the purple!

I really like the short fringe on Lilly!
Who knows what nice things you'll be able to fit into your day with all those hours free! Perhaps some crafting will take your mind off it!

It looks like they are both ready to be off on adventures! I love the fabrics that you have and can't wait to see the finished products!
It's nice that you spend the quality time walking too and from nursery talking about your days and seeing what you can see!

hello :)
what beautiful pics of your children... my girls (x2) start back to school next week, i remember about this time last year they were getting ready for their first day ever! such a lot has changed over that first year, they seem to have grown up so much!
i'm sure your little girl will love her time at nursery and once you get used to it the extra time will be fab for you too! as for sebastian, there are new challenges all the time once they are at school... always something new for them to cope with but i think it is always harder for us than them!
