My children are both at the neighbors for a party and I have found myself at home with some spare time. The sun is shining and things are good. It is nice to have my son home from school this week. When vacation comes it hits me how much he is gone every day and just how much of the day is scheduled. Finally, I realize how much little one and I miss him!
So we will make the most of the time together. We have been playing old maid and go fish a lot lately. This is a game both children can play and so far neither are sore loosers. We hoot and holler and laugh a lot about getting that darned old maid though! My son suggested I photograph these pretty marbles. He thought they would look great on my blog and I couldn't agree with him more.
This week the European Street Team's challenge's theme chosen by Kreativlink is "Tree". I embroidered this little one to celebrate the coming of spring and the hope we'll see something like this soon - leaves and blossoms!
This is the first time I have used my linen embroidery floss. I found out quickly that they fray more easily than cotton and that one has to use a bit more care in how hard you pull on the floss. Once that lesson was learned I enjoyed it completly.
Inside is a very pretty Liberty of London fabric.
Now I will go and get some sewing done while it is quiet in the house... Enjoy your week!
Oh my i adore your little tree pouch! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It's soo cute and sooo sweet! Have a good week ahead and have a merry happy day! Love to you and yours!

What are you going to use your pouch for? It turned out very nice. And your tree too!
Marbles... so cool! Does Sebastian know how to play marbles? Except for the size... your pouch looks like it could be a marble bag! My dad was the state Champion in Washington state as a kid, he traveled to another state to compete with other kids for best in the country. But, he didn't make it to that great honor. There is a picture in the Shelton, Washington museum of him and some of his marbles.

I love your little bag! I think it great that you play with your kids. I tried playing marble with my grandson the other day and found that I just can't shoot the marbles like I use too!

What a lovely blossom tree. It looks perfect on the bag for Spring.
I haven't used linen floss before. I think the most exotic I have got was in the scissor fob where 2 of the threads were Weeks Overdyed varigated yarns.

I am so pleased I have found your blog! My great, great Grandfather was Norwegian, and my mother and I constantly feel the pull to your fair home! In fact he was credited with bringing the Norwegian snow shoe to our winter snow covered Snowy Mountains (I'm in Australia!) over 100 years ago. And goodness, I truely adore Japanese craft books too. I have just spent the better part of an hour going through all of your previous posts, I feel like I know you already! And your dolls are beautiful too - such talent! Looking forward to getting to know you better!
