There has been a lot of the fluffy white stuff to shovel lately and we have had plenty of help.
My older child found other ways to entertain himself.
Snow this deep makes the world so new and gives a lot to explore!
I have had more indoor winter fun with these mittens I am working on.
I am nearly done! Don't you love the curilicues?
One done and one to go. Complicated patterns like this aren't great for social knitting though. I mainly do these when I have a bit of quiet time alone.
I forgot to show this pretty yarn my mom bought when she was visiting over Chrismas.
Lilly requested an entire doll wardrobe, complete with hat, scarf, sweater, dress, pants, socks, mittens, etc for her dolls, but was quite pleased to get the hat Gramma made her doll. My mother spends so much time playing with the children that there is barely time for knitting.
I have had so much fun lately, making new friends via this blog. Last week I met Anne Marie and today I met Amanda who had a sewing session with me and the children. Imagine she loves to sew but has moved to Norway with nearly no fabric. So she helped me make space on my shelves for new purchases... It will soon be flea market season so I will need a bit of extra shelf space! Actually people say they want to bring thier spouse over to show them how much worse other people are about buying too much fabric (ME= the worse one...)
A trio of Norwegian women with a passion for interior design and the creators of the blog named Flittiglisene, did a piece about me today which was so nice. It is ironic becuase my dolls have become known in China but not really in the country I live - Norway!
Love the curlicues -- and Lilly's flower hat too. :-)

I love your knitting. I wish I could master knitting needles! Your snow seems a world away from the heat wave and fires that are ravaging Australia at the moment.

Your mittens are wonderful! You and your mom are so talented! I was never around my grandmothers for a long enough amount of time to learn to knit/crochet other than granny squares. And then there was no one to help me when I had a problem. So I stopped work on them. I've always admired people who have the patience to knit/crochet.
The kids look like they are enjoying their winter snow! We got another 12 inches yesterday and then around 4 more today! We needed it. It's always so pretty. Our dog just loves to run in it and bury her nose, rooting around in it. She comes into the house with snow all over her face. LoL... she is a cutie!
I will have to get a picture of it! I have figured out how to download my pic's to the computer... next step... onto my blog! Yeah!

Your mittens are wonderful! I hope I can get to the stage where I can do that . . . maybe in a few years, LOL.
Even though I don't speak or read Norwegian, but with my Danish I can still make out that the review was very nice. I hope you get some Norwegian customers from the write-up.
We are finally getting some more snow. We had about 3-4 feet in mid December and that was it until now! We are only expecting maybe 6-7 inches, but we need all we can get.
There's nothing more enjoyable than to watch kids and dogs play in the snow.

Oh, did he really liked to get snow down his neck? ;)
We finally got some warmer weather (just -8C) here today, so we might go out and have some fun in the snow too :)

Those mittens you are knitting are gorgeous. I really don't think I would be able to follow such a complex pattern, but someday I will give it a try.
Nice feature on you in that blog. I think I even managed to understand most of the text (thanks to my skills in Swedish). Some time ago there were not that many Finnish sellers in Etsy, but they are getting more and more.

The mittens are amazing! I was struggling just to knit stripes with 2 colours the other day, let alone little people!
Love all that snow too - wish I could come and shovel some into a snowman!

All our snow here is gone, at least in the city- even the yucky bits. Now we brace for the next storm after some spring-like weather (in the mid 60sF)! Those are lovely mittens.

Your children are adorable -- and oh.my. -- lovely knitted mittens. Your yarn looks so luscious -- don't you just love the whole tactile experience of stitching with such yarn-ey goodness!?

Thanks for dropping by my blog, I love what I have seen so far of your work. The dolls are very special, such cheery colours! Your part of the world looks so inviting with all the snow, we so need some water here in Victoria, Australia! Lizzie.

every time i see your knitting here i drool a little more. The pinks in that hat are so lovely. I've done several stranded hats, but I am working on my first stranded sweater right now (for my son) and it's sortof my practice project before I launch into a full scale proper Norwegian sweater for my husband. :)
