Just what the children ordered: piles of fresh snow!
Our backyard at dawn this morning. I love the bluish tint the world can get with the morning light on new fallen snow.
Lilly was fairly awestruck by the depth of it.
I just wanted to show you that I have played around with knitted designs before. It really is fun.
If you would like to make your own graph paper - any size - here is a wonderful link. I have just printed some and am going to have a go at it.
Hi Emily,
I was just at Erin's site... A Dress A Day, anyway she had this site w/info to the problem with the toys etc.... you might want to check it out!

Your snow picture and Melissa's, of Tiny Happy are almost the same - beautiful!
Goes to show - Norway is getting lots of snow!

We played hooky from school today and went sledding all day. Love the snow! I of course did not actually sled... baby due in two weeks, it didn't seem like a good idea! Glad to see you are having some snow fun, too. And thanks for the graph paper link, that was very useful! I think it's helpful when designing knitting patterns to have slightly rectangular (instead of square squares) graph paper, to more acurately reflect the rows-to-stitches proportion knitting has.

What a lovely sight- snow and children. :-)
Yes i have used graph paper when making some icelandic wool hats -reindeer, squirrels, raspberries etc. I think roughly a knitted stitch is 2X3 squares in shape.

What a lovely blog you have, I am delighted to have discovered it and envious of all that snow.

Yeah... isn't the light just beautiful with the new snow? I love it.
I really liked your mittens in your previous post. I've been wanting to knit something like that for ages... and then I got some new Selbuvotter for Christmas, and I also have a pair from before so I don't really need any more of the same style... guess it'll have to wait.
