This week's European Street Team's challenge was tough for me. I am good with cute, pretty and girly. I am not so good with "boy" as the theme was this week. I did my best!
Please greet Harald. I combined two things I have been wanting to do for a long time: boy and person of color. (Please do forgive me if I am not using the correct term for this now. I have been in Norway now for 17 years and don't always know the proper terms anymore.) I have been wanting to make some non-white dolls for a long time. I can admit that this is one of my favorite dolls I have ever made.
I guess he is still girly, but young boys do look really sweet don't they?
Ellen Julie is another fresh face in the shop also made with Fluttby fabric by Tula Pink.
Shhhh, Henni is sleeping so nicely and I think having such pleasant dreams.
I am loving using the Japanese fabrics I have been collecting. The muted colors and homespun feel make them look old fashioned.
I must admit I still sneak the odd floral pillowcase or made by me doll, in my son's bedroom. So far no objections as they really do love flowers too. Sweet dolls.

Maybe looks girly for the flower?, lol...
Lovely anyway.
i love the white and non-white too!

Perhaps minus the flower, Herald would look a bit less girly. But I do love the variation oh the white and non-white.

Love Harald, but maybe it's the lips and the color of them that makes him look girly?? Perhaps a different type mouth would make the difference. LindaSonia

Just love Harald. Great colors, in all respects. I admire the way you challenge yourself. Really wonderful. :)

They are all so beautiful and charming. Absolutely stunning work.

Harald is utterly cherubic. Baby boys do look utterly beautiful and sweet - unlike when they reach, oh say 4 or 5 years old and you have to scrub them clean before you can even properly see them. (Or is that only my kids??) LOL!!

Maybe it's the autumn playing tricks on me, but I (the usual color lover) find the muted girls totally beautiful.

Harald is darling. Maybe he could use a neck tie instead of a flower, to make him more manly! Love his fabric too.
