Sometimes getting a stack of brand new fabrics can set off a sewing frenzy.
When I got the package of Heather Bailey's Pop Garden fabrics the other day I knew I had to make some dolls right away!
After washing, drying and ironing the fabrics I put them onto the floor to play with. Oh, joy, to be surrounded by so much color and beauty! I wanted to make some dolls to list for the shop right away and it was so hard to decide which fabrics to use first as they are all so lovely! I limited myself to four dolls as I knew that was what I would have time for.
I was going to announce the arrival of these new matryoshkas in my shop to you but Thurid is the only one left now!
Besides playing with Heather Bailey's fabrics lately I have been getting into the Christmas spirit and will show you soon...
I had a good weekend doing some sewing and embroidery with wonderfully clear conscience as it was raining outdoors. This coming week is the last week of summer vacation for my big boy. The summer went by too fast! He starts third grade and can't wait to start taking the Judo classes which we have signed him up for. I am hoping to sign my little girl up for folk dancing and really look forward to it myself as the parents get to dance too!
Oh, those dolls are amazing!!!
Love them all and the fabric is just PRETTY!!!!

You can do no wrong when it comes to making your dolls. They always turn out so beautiful. I have to admit that when I get new fabric I sometimes fold it up neatly and carry it in my purse for a few days. At least I can admire it while I am working which always leads to great inspiration for not only my sewing projects but my pay-the-bills job tasks too!

Oh my! Those fabrics are wonderful. I know what you mean about some fabrics just make you want to start sewing there and then.

I just adore those new ladies! Wow, what colors...what prints. It feels like a summer garden, lush from all of this rain!!!
Beautiful, Emily.
And folk-dancing sounds wonderful.
Send me some good sewing Mojo as I brace myself to be reacquainted with my sewing machine. We were never on the best of terms to begin with...But it's getting a massage from the local expert at fixing and tuning machines, so I am hopeful that will serve as a peace offering! I am scared and excited, and so inspired by the likes of you!
