When I really love an artist or crafter's work I long to have one of their pieces. I am lucky enough to already own one by Kristin LaFlamme and when she contacted me last week to ask if I would like one of her pincushions I was so flattered that she would think of me.
I was overjoyed at the thought of having another of Kristin's (a quilting artist) handmade items. Her pincushion is so wonderfully original with the mix of fabrics and felt. The hand stitches and ruffles make it such a treasure. Thank you Kristin!
My sewing machine has been humming away as I make custom orders and a whole new batch of fresh dolls. I so love using fabrics which I haven't used before! What is it that makes pink paired with green so appealing? I really like the soft shades of it on Erica.
I used Simplicity by Three Sisters for Moda fabric to make these shabby chic dolls which are fresh in the shop today. They would be the perfect decoration for a nursery, with one or more perched up on a shelf.
Eeek! I have been tagged by Tonje! and I now have to write an entire alphabet about myself...
A- adaptable
B- Bilingual (copying Tonje on this one)
C- caring
D- dancing queen (not really, but I do like dancing)
E- Ex-pat for 17 years
F- Faint - I have done so once or twice
G- gullible
H- homesick (for my family at times)
I- indispensable (to my family)
J- Japanese craft lover
K- knitter
L- learning to quilt
(Time for a photo break!!!)
Our kids have left a few apples on our tree to actually have a chance of becoming edible. It really is hard for kids to wait all the way till fall to pick the fruit!
Ok, back to the alphabet:
M- make stuff
N- nonconformist
O- open to new things
P- patient
Q- quilter
R- romantic, hopelessly so
S- sensible
T- terrible at finding words about myself
U- unlikely to find words for the next letters
V- visiting with my mother very soon!
W- want to buy some new fabric
X- Excellent cook
Y- yankee- at least at heart, as a native of New England
Z- zipper phobia- haven't dared to try sewing one in yet.
I would like to tag Merruli as she has just returned from a blogging hiatus and I am so glad to have her back!
I stitched up this bag and sent it off last week as a little surprise for someone.
Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog :)
I love your dolls - pink and green is a favourite colour combination of mine!

Like Karen, I love the pink/green combo. It's one of the few ways that I actually like pink. ;0 Your dolls are always such a joy to look at, and Torrill really is a member of our home. :D Hope your other lasses find homes as happy to have them!

pink and green is always a lovely colour combination. It can be soft or it can be bold but always pretty. The little lady on the bag is very sweet - Jen

You don't strike me as a girl with a zipper phobia {some of us (me) it's obvious!} because all your sewing is incredible and well done! Yipee to the Yankees!

Just nu är jag ute på sommarsegling och har inte tillgång till internet så ofta - desto roligare blir det att kika in här när jag inte varit här på ett tag! Så många fina bilder och inspiration! Ha en fortsatt skön sommar! / Petra

Your sweet ladies are very Summery! The greens and pink are so fresh! Just follow the directions on the zipper package and you will be fine! Hmmm my phobia would probably be the Serger! I don't have one and don't intend to get one!

When pink, then absolutely combined either with green or blue, I love those little ladies again! Thanks for tagging me, I'll get to that one in a couple of days.

Emily, your shop is full of so many new and beautiful dolls! I usually sway towards the bolder colors but I can be persuaded! The new pastel ones would make the most precious gift for a little girl, hmmmm, if only I had one. Ohhhh to be poor. I just hope your still stocked at Christmas :)
Isn't it great when someone thinks of you out of the blue? It always reminds me that there is good in life, and makes me want to do the same. I keep forgetting you were born in Cambridge. You should let me know some places to go photo for you! Or some goodies you loved. Have a great week hun. Love Stacy

what lovely craftings! I love the "Simplicity" fabrics too -I'm going to make a quilt from them next month. The colours reminded me of ice creams.

I sew everything by hand and I don't do zippers. So far, it hasn't been a problem.
the greens in that bag seem very 1960- ish....kind of groovy.....
i am all over pink and green... I just knit up some little pink and green mojo bags...kind of reminds me of peppermints and ice cream....

You don't stop to amaze me with your dolls.
They are lovely.
About the alphabet, you should replace the T (terrible at finding words about myself) by TALENTED!
Big hug for you and Lilly

I love the colors & fabric you picked for your dolls! And that little bag you stitched up is darling. You should try to make a bag with the doll being a pocket on the outside. That would very cute.
