(Don't forget to enter my give away if you haven't already!)
The weather was perfect today, not hot, but sunny and beautiful. Lilly and I had a ball first making sandcastles in the sandbox and then walking with friends to our local shops to do the grocery shopping. Lilly is wearing the sweater I made her awhile ago. She is growing so slowly that it still fits her.
The big hill on the walk home invited the little ones to roll, roll, roll. Here she is just reaching the bottom.
As I said it was a great day today. I got mail! As I can never resist entering a give away I am occasionally the lucky winner. It was lovely to win this very beautiful ATC by the very talented and sweet Iris.
I just love the various patterned papers, the colors and the quote that has left me thoughtful in wonder at what this means.
Even the backside is really thoughtfully done. Thank you dear Iris!
Here is Lilly in sweet slumber with this beautifully made doll from Anne Katrine.
As you can see, the doll is crocheted. Her dress is knitted and the cute flower embellishment is crocheted. Anne's daughter has the other one that Anne made of these dolls. I was so touched for Lilly to receive this precious gift.
Now this lovely day is drawing to a close, and I should be heading to bed. First though I have to take a peek at this stack of crafting books fresh from Amazon today!
The Crafter's Companion was the book that led me to discover blogging (I literally had no idea what it was before reading that) - what a fantastic book it is - I hope that you enjoy it.

I was just on Etsy and saw one of your dolls on the front page! I believe Pernille is the lucky gal to get the spotlight. Congratulations!

It does look like a perfect summer day - wellington boots and all (a highlight of my childhood summers!) That photo of Lilly rolling down the hill is such fun!
I love all the mail and the doll! I received a parcel from the US yesterday which a friend sent, I am off to pay the £15 custom charges to collect it today (ouch!!)

Your daughter is so sweet like a little angel when sleeping. :-)
I love Amazon- because the local bookshop doesn't stock craft books I tend to use Amazon and go by the reviews from people who've got the books. So far bar a couple, all the books I've chosen have been great- especially the Tilda ones.
Thank you for the giveaway. I've finally entered.

so many things in just one blog post.
new books!!!
colorful cards!!!
beautiful kid!!!
but the one stand out was all the clothes on Lilly at the beach... no matter what weather, no matter what season, my kids strip down to nothing as soon as they hit the beach......at least that way they have dry clothes to go home in......
that knit doll sure is cute.....

Thanks, Emily! Something about the apron-shape looked to me like it was in motion, almost like a clothesline...The quote seemed like it could be part of a story, maybe of hope, of dreaming? I guess the two thoughts came together in your ATC.
I am so glad it arrived to you.
Love that summer girl of yours! So busy!

I'm glad you are enjoying time out on the beach...looks like fun rolling down grassy hills! The jumper Lilly is wearing looks so lovely with the roses on it, you're very talented. Enjoy reading your new books, the Crafters companion is great! I also purchased a number of books in the last month which I'm hoping to read or at least look at when I have an evening free! Sarah x

Your pictures of Norway are so great Emily. My sister is moving back there in a couple of months (Sarpsborg) so it's really nice to see how beautiful Norway is.
Plus your babushkas are wonderful!
