I worked a bit on the backside of a little quilt I am making

while visiting my children's father's father's mother or Great Grandmother.
This is the breathtaking view from her home.
The flower gardens surrounding the entire house parallel the view.
The 150 types of roses in her garden haven't come into bloom yet but there were many other types of flowers to enjoy.
My son loves adventure and his Great Grandmother obliged him by giving him a boost up onto the roof!
We all took a walk on a nearby deserted beach.
My son in a rare moment of stillness.
Back to climbing things again...
Frida is embroidered, painted and sewn up and now slumbering peacefully in my shop waiting for a new home.
I really love doing appliqué, so her backside has a heart!
I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend. Thank you all who sent such warm messages wishing us better health on my last post! I so appreciate your kindness.

Those views from your grandmother's house are breathtaking - the light is wonderful. Frida's face is very serene and I love that polka dot pink fabric. Thank you for your comment on my doll - it was fun making her.

Your embroidery is so gorgeous! I am biased because I love the name Lilly but it's perfect none-the-less.

I'd love to move in with your children's great grandmother. But I guess I would getting done nothing when living in such a wonderful place... always staring at the sea... well, I could knit, maybe.

Please tell me what kind of paint you used on this doll face. I have tried different things and nothing has given me results as good as this. Would you share your secret? Thanks.

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement!
Dawn, I have used fabric paints to paint their faces. The paints are called Sunny Tex, Stoffmaleriei Javana and they were made in Germany. I use a paintbrush that I first dip in water, then dry off with a cloth so that it is nearly dry.
I hope this helps!
