This weekend I received my first handmade purchase from Etsy!
I fell for Sibi's use of vintage shibori silk from Japanese kimono. The owls are even cuter in person!
Lilly really fell for them too.
My husband took the kids out for a boat ride on the fjord on Saturday. Here they are waiting for the train downtown.
The grandparents are going to love the post today with all the photos of their grandchildren...
Taking the train is always fun even though they have done it many a time.
Sebastian enjoying the view from the boat on Oslo fjord. Daddy really knows how to find fun things to do because on Sunday the outing was to a visiting amusement park right nearby.
That is one boy having a great time!
While they were off amusing themselves I was home washing and ironing my new fabric purchases from our trip to the US. To some it might not sound so amusing but it was enormously satisfying to get it done and put on the shelves so that I can get started on a project! I am going to give you a preview of an upcoming post on our family quilts.
I am thrilled to have a record of them now and really excited to show them to you!
ooh, i love to bring new (or garage sale) material home... wash it, hang it out, iron it and stand and admire it. I would totally spend a day doing and enjoying that, just like my mom!!!!
cute owls!!!! (lilly is cute, too!!!)

O.K. I'm all envious of the beautiful family quilt. It's really lovely. The colors are great. I'm anxious to see more!
The kids look like they had a fun time too. I'm with you, spending time washing fabric to prepare it for projects is well... just part of the fun in the prep! Nothing quite so satisfying as ironing either... (at least to me, it takes me back to my grandma... she used to iron her sheets too! She had what was called a mangle to iron them with...) Of course we have soo many more products that are made from no iron types of materials that are suppossed to be time saving. That would be fine, but I'm all for the 100% cotton! Sorry, rambeling a bit. Tell your DH I hope that he enjoyed the time with the kids as much as they probably did spending time with him. I think there are a lot of people out there that seem to still think that children should be seen and not tooo often! Bet they had a wonderful time. What a treat, time with dad!
Do you celebrate Mother's Day there? Well if so, hope it was a good day for all of you!
Take care! Jean C.
