I have joined in the Take it Further challenge for the year 2008. I think this is going to be a good way for me to try new things and learn in the process. Each month you can chose between a set of colors or a theme presented by Sharon.
So far I have decided that I am going with the colors for January. They were so irresistible and I was surprised to find that I had kimono silks that matched near perfectly.
I didnt' get the the light beige in the fabric photo but I have it. Anyway that is how far I have gotten so far. I am notorious for procrastinating... I still have over a week to go! Plenty of time... Tonight though I was out at a knitting cafe. It was lovely to meet so many knitters of a variety of ages, and knitting the most beautiful of things. There was even another American there. It was so funny. She was embroidering a gift for her sister, who doesn't know any Norwegian. It was just 3 words cross stitched in Norwegian surrounded by pretty flowers. The three words were three swear words, but she was going to tell her sister that it says "home sweet home". I won't write the words here, this is supposed to be a nice blog.
Thanks for your comment on my blog last week. You made me happy :)
Ah I laughed loud for that american woman who was embroidering to her sister a gift... :D

That's a great color and fabric combo - I've been shying away from purples lately but I like what you're showing here....

I'd love to be not in a knitting coffee (because I have no skills at all), but in a sewing coffee, with other people. There is no such thing around. That must be so fun...
Now, I've been tagged by Sheree and, if it's ok with you, I'm tagging you. See more in: http://buebau.blogspot.com/2008/01/ive-been-tagged.html
Have fun.

Those are really inspiring colors. Waiting to see what you make out of your lovely fabrics? Hmm, that other American must have the strangest kind of sense of humor or very special relationship with her sister.

You are the enthusiastic one! Great challange though, I will be watching to see what you do! I went to the other site... I can't even begin to comprehend how she is going to keep it all straight! Over 200 people on the list! Can you imagine all those talented people getting together somewhere? Wouldn't that be wonderful! Enjoy, guess I need to come up with some sort of challange for myself... I don't think that that would quite be my cup of tea! Take care. Jean-o
