I have just completed the January Take it Further Challenge that I first posted about here.
I did an applique and embroidery piece, and I am satisfied with some individual elements.
My embroidery is improving but I need more practice.
I used what I had on hand: vintage kimono silks.
The colors weren't exactly as depicted on the color chart, but I liked using what I had.
I learned an incredible amount. For instance, I need to learn more about composition.
(PS: There is still time to join in on the Give Away - just leave a comment on the previous post: A lot to celebrate!)
Thanks for visiting my blog. :)
I think your embroidery is great!!

Hello again Emily. I love your work. I particularly like the leaves with the little curl on the end. I think your choice of materials is great, so many different textures.
I have tidied up my sewing drawers and discovered some threads I had forgotten about. I also rediscovered a tablecloth which has been a WIP for about 7 years. I feel guilty that I never finished it, I think I started with a pattern which was a bit too complex for such a large piece of work. I really must make the effort to get it finished.

Emily it is absolutely beautiful!!! I love the colours and the embroidery details and the bird - so sweet. I would really love to learn a lot more about composition too - I just tend to go with what looks right to me! Well done!
