I am having marvelous time today. I finally got my sewing room neat and tidy. What do you think that leads to? Yes, you have it: a real urge to make something = another mess.
Here is the pile of fabric that I am working from. I figured it out. I haven't had enough fabric before. I didn't dare to use much of the peices that I had because I knew I just had little bits. Now I have several meters of each of my new fabrics and I am losing my fear of using things up.
So here is what I am working on this evening. I couldn't wait until it was finished to show you. These last few months I have wanted to make some softies. At long last I am starting on one and that feels great.
When I have an idea it is usually brewing for a long time until I start it. At first I get all psyched thinking how wonderful whatever it is I am making is going to be. Sometime later I start having my doubts and then more doubts. I frequently finish anyway despite me feelings that it isn't going to turn into anything special. Does anyone else go through this too?
This last picture is completly unrelated to the topic above and is especially for my mom. If you think Lilly's dress looks a bit vintage, well you are correct. Mom made this when I was little and I think I must have worn it. The pretty dress will fit better by summer, but she doesn't want to wait. I think she might be dreaming of summer.
The other reason I wanted to show this picture is look how much Lilly's hair has grown! It started to grow about a month ago and although it doesn't really need brushing we do it anyway. We tried a wig on her one time and found out she is going to look lovely with a bit more hair.
Beautiful fabric - I love the brown with pink and blue flowers. Can't wait to see what you're up to! Good night.

sweet little lilly with her vintage dress! that makes me laugh, that you tried a wig on her.
can't wait to see how your softie turns out- it looks amazing so far!
and i know exactly what you mean about having more fabric. i had a really big stash in NZ and i found that that really helped my creativity grow. no more being frugal with materials! it's so freeing.

Lol... I'm the same with my fabrics... scared to use them....
Lilly's dress looks gorgeous. I've still got the crocheted dress I wore on my first birthday, and am planning on putting it on Susie on her first birthday next month. And I must say I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who have tried a wig on my baby....

oh, that softie doll is going to be out of this world adorable!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see how it turns out.......don't you just love it when you think about a project and then it turns out so adorable. So rewarding.....you sure have an eye for color and design...that dress of yours on your girlie is sooo sweet. She will look so cute running around in sandals with it this summer. :) Happy New Year, Laurie~

It shines already through, that your softie is going to be really nice. You inspired me to organizing my craft spot. It's no surprise I began with the fabrics and oddly enough the desk is still waiting for its turn.
