Amazing finds for speedy, greedy girl at flea market

I was so fast and so lucky! I was the first one to get to the textile section of the flea market. What a great feeling to have the entire place to myself for a matter of 10 seconds before the crouds start to push and shove. I started to look in a big cardboard box filled with fabric. Nothing too interesting. I catch a glimpse of a smaller box overflowing with the most amazing trims. I quickly grab it and carry it with me while I explore further.

Here are the green trims I found.

Look at the pile of rick rack! Someone really loved blue rick rack.

I love these deep blues. I only got one of the two long dark velvet ribbons in the photo!

This really was a treasure trove of a box that I found! Take a look at the beautiful red!

These are true vintage. The trims are all on cards of cardboard or wood. The silver trim in the forground is surprisingly heavy. And there are beautiful thick coppery metalic trims, cords and threads. I have no idea what I will be making with these treasures but in the meanwhile I enjoy looking at them!

I also find a jar filled with buttons! These are just a few of the many buttons made of shells, a large number of which are apparently quite old mother of pearl.

Flea market season is nearing a close for the fall. Hopefully then I will have more time to make things since I won't be spending all my free-time shopping!
