Yesterday Lilly and I were off to a birthday party! The first dress wasn't quite right... Hand made by mom but a bit plain...
My mother made this frilly dress for my little one! The sweet cherry print fabric is from LakeHouse Drygoods.
The bag Lilly is holding is a little gift bag for the birthday girl.
Josefine, clearly knowegable about quilts due to early exposure of her mother's hobby, examined her gift quite closely with obvious appreciation. If you have been following my blog for awhile you might have noticed that I made a similar doll quilt for Lilly. At that time, I made extra blocks on purpose so that I would have enough for a second quilt.
For the label on the back I cut out a heart, hand embroidered it, and then needle turned and stitched the appliqué onto the back of the quilt.
Josefine's mother, my dear friend Anne Katrine, seemed pleased with the little gift I gave her too. These are some Japanese Quilt Gate fabrics which I bought on ebay.
This weekend is HOT! I am working on some new things and am excited to show you soon! Hope you are having a great weekend too.
